Hi everyone, i guess this is just a quick post to say hello and talk a little about myself.
So, to start off: My name is Steph, I've been drawing seriously for about ... 10 years i think?
I have ADHD and because of this i tend to get excited about a lot of different things.
For instance these hyper focused interests include: Writing, Comics, Illustration, Podcasts, Horror, Fantasy, Cooking and Video Games to name a few.
I have been to college for most of those things actually- though I currently hold just one full degree.
I went to Tunxis Community College and received an Associates in Sciences- with a focus on Illustration back in the aughts, and then went on to SCAD where i Double Majored in Game Design and Sequential Arts ( Comics) I was set to graduate when they pulled the rug out from under me and told me a week from graduation that i didn't have a high enough GPA. ( still mad honestly not gonna lie...)
In my final year of SCAD I pulled together and ran a 20+ contributor Comic Anthology which I Kickstarted on my own called Recondite Hill Vol 1. Things to See. The anthology is a series of short horror comics set in the fictional town of Recondite Hill, where the artist and writers were tasked with populating this mysterious burg with its onw urban legends and cryptids. The lineup for the anthology included some rising stars in the indie scene, and i was delighted to work with every single contributor.
As you can see by the naming convention - Volume 1, the book is meant to be the first in a three part anthology.
Volume 1 - Things to See.
Volume 2 - Places to Go.
Volume 3 - People to Meet.
All of these focus on specific horror aspects of the town, the first being Monsters, the second being Haunted or cursed buildings, and the third being strange or dangerous people.
Due to 2020 and my time at SCAD the second and third installment of the series is currently on hold. However I fully plan on continuing the series!
After SCAD I suffered some extreme mental and emotional exhaustion and floated from job to job listening to podcasts. During 2020 I started working on one -- which will be airing on all podcasting platforms this summer!
I'm hoping to continue pushing into the arts as a stable career- but we'll see how things go.
I will be ( hopefully) updating this blog every month or so with insight or information i think is interesting.
See you later!
